Water and the Green Recovery: Why water saving matters and how to communicate that in your business

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Investors in the Environment (iiE) Awards, and to celebrate the occasion we are launching a full programme of free online events for you and your team to join.

We are planning a week-long series of webinars to engage organisations with different environmental initiatives to inspire, influence and share best practice. The programme will culminate in the iiE Awards on International Clean Air Day (Thursday 8th October).

Join us on Monday 5th October, at 4pm, for a free online event called ‘Water and the Green Recovery: Why water saving matters and how to communicate that in your business’.

Hear from Andy Brown, Head of Sustainability at Anglian Water Group, as he explores how water is critical for a green recovery, from an individual, business and landscape context.

Andy works with the Anglian Water board to oversee the delivery of their purpose, “to bring environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve through our commitment to Love Every Drop”. In addition to embedding sustainability throughout the business he has direct responsibility for the teams delivering six capitals and UN SDGs thinking, community education, employee engagement & volunteering programmes and the Anglian Centre for Water Studies – a partnership with the University of East Anglia.

Having worked in sustainability for the past 20 years he has led in the areas of natural environment, climate change adaptation and now sustainability. He is currently a member of BITC’s national Water Taskforce, and Place Leadership Team and a member of the Regional Advisory Board. He is also an external advisor on Tarmac’s Sustainability Panel.

You can also hear from Kate Marx, Waterwise Campaigns and Social Research Manager, as she discusses UK species and habitats endangered by water stress, and ideas for engaging businesses and colleagues with saving water.

Kate has a PhD in Anthrozoology, a social science which studies how human beings relate to other animals and the natural world around them. Kate has previously worked with the University of Exeter and National Geographic on messaging approaches for reducing the demand for rhino horn in Asia.
