Come along to our early evening Resource Efficiency Networking event for environmentally minded businesses to find out more about how we can help your business to save money and improve your environmental performance. An opportunity to meet and chat with other Green Businesses, joining The GBN team who have successfully received two Green Apple awards for Environmental Best Practise in Carbon Reductions this year.

Resource Efficiency is the posh way to say that we are saving money by being smart! The GBN helps its customers to become resource efficient and save money through simple strategies, like reducing draughts and turning down thermostats. We also help businesses to comply with environmental legislation, like the Packaging Regulations.

In 2017, we helped 30 clients to save 5,500t of CO₂emissions by reducing gas burned by 30% on average, electricity used reduced by 16% on average and a few other tricks. That is what we do with Investors in the Environment.

With our packaging compliance customers, we have adopted a campaign to support British recyclers, (in preference to those based in China). In 2017, we managed to buy over 80% of our members recycling certificates, known as PRNs, from recyclers in the UK which avoided the need to ship over 27,000t of waste packaging to China with an associated carbon footprint of just over 7,900t of CO₂.

The Green Apple Environment Awards reward and promote environmental best practice around the world. This year, they are acknowledging both our efforts to help our members to reduce their environmental impact and also our efforts to support British recycling in their Environmental Best Practice category.
