The government has confirmed that no new petrol or diesel cars will be sold post-2030. We will explore what this means for you as a business and how you can get ahead of the game by planning for these future changes, such as investing in electric vehicles (EV’s), infrastructure and EV charging points at your sites. We will showcase best practice case studies and how implementing EV’s can become part of your wider sustainability plans and how it can support cutting costs too! Ian Achurch, Head of Economy and Strategy  at North Northamptonshire Council

Ian AchurchIan Achurch is a Charter Town Planner and Head of Economy & Strategy for North Northamptonshire Council (NNC) which was created in April 2021.  Ian leads the economic development and external funding activities for the council.  He is also currently the lead officer for Digital Infrastructure and the Northamptonshire E-Scooter trial for both NNC and West Northamptonshire Council.  Previously, Ian held a similar role for the former Northamptonshire County Council where he established the Smart Move Northamptonshire initiative, and led bids which resulted in Northamptonshire being award title of Most Enterprise Place in the UK and winning a National Planning Innovation Award for the Northamptonshire Revolving Infrastructure Fund.  He has also submitted and presented papers to various national and international conferences, including European and World Intelligent Transport System Congresses, the ERTICO platform and ‘think tank’ events.

 

Simon Blaaser, Carbon Mentor & Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Specialist at SaveMoneyCutCarbon

Simon BlasserSimon began his career in the retail sector before moving into publishing as an Agency Sales Manager.  He joined SaveMoneyCutCarbon in 2016 quickly taking responsibility for EV products and sales.

Simon is now a specialist in the EV field advising on the design and specifications of charging solutions for a wide range of customers including leading hospitality brands and public sector organisations.  He also heads up SaveMoneyCutCarbon’s solar project management and design service.

 

Matt Barber, Head of Partnerships, Midlands & East, Sustrans

Matt is Head of Partnerships for the sustainable transport charity Sustrans. The organisation brings people together to create places with clean air and green spaces, and cities and towns where  everyone can thrive without having to use a car.

Amy Moore

Amy has worked in the Environment field for over 8 years with a focus on sustainable transport, engaging a range of stakeholders to shift transport mode away from private car to active/sustainable travel. Including: Walk to School with Living Streets, Personalised Travel Planning at the University of Cambridge and implementing the Travel Plan at UON offering staff and students a suite of initiatives to facilitate walking, cycling and sustainable travel including both infrastructure and behaviour change projects.
