We are on a mission to help organisations make a positive impact on the planet.
Investors in the Environment (iiE) supports organisations of all sizes, including small and medium-sized businesses, public sector bodies and charities, who want to take action but may be unsure where to start.
We are owned and managed nationally by the environmental charity PECT, whose core mission is to create sustainable places. Drawing on its experience of supporting long-term, place-based sustainability, PECT established Investors in the Environment in 2010 to bridge a clear gap between business ambition and effective environmental management.
Since then, iiE has worked with hundreds of organisations through accreditation and consultancy, helping them move from intention to action and build confidence in their environmental performance.
The iiE framework was originally developed as a stepping stone towards ISO 14001. Over time, it has evolved into a standalone framework that supports organisations wherever they are on their environmental journey. Performance-oriented and practical, iiE is designed to remove common barriers such as cost, time pressure and complexity.
We focus on progress over perfection, encouraging continuous improvement rather than expecting organisations to have everything in place from day one.
