Meet Scenariio’s Green Champion
George Pritchard, Scenariio’s appointed Green Champion, tells us a bit about himself and also why he feels the iiE network is right for them.
“I joined Scenariio out of University, where I studied modules in both Sustainability and the Environment. This led me to understand the importance that even small changes can make in carbon reduction.
One of my requests upon joining Scenariio was for us to promote our desire to become green, and, after speaking with Ella at the iiE’s Central Region office, I was certain that becoming a Green member of the iiE was the best route for us to take. We don’t see this as a badge collecting exercise, as the scheme requires us to drive down our carbon output by 2% minimum per annum. I see this as a way of guiding Scenariio to become a more sustainable company that does not rely on the Earth’s natural resources to maintain our competitive market position. Our customers who have installed smartengine intelligent lighting have seen their carbon footprint reduced by up to 44 tons per year, it is important that we do all we can to improve on this amazing saving from within our organisation itself.”
