Join Change Agent’s interactive, informative and inspiring training to develop your skills and become fully Carbon Literate, certified through the UN-supported and internationally recognised Carbon Literacy Project!

This training includes two virtual sessions, running from 9:15am – 12:30pm on both days (26 January and 2 February 2027) as well as individual study ahead of the two sessions (around 2 hours) that will give you a well-rounded insight into carbon and climate. To achieve the certification, you will need to then submit a short evidence form, including a personal and professional pledge, to the Carbon Literacy Project (CLP) who certify you.

What is Carbon Literacy?

Carbon Literacy is defined as ‘An awareness of the carbon costs and impacts of everyday activities and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.’

What will we cover?

We will be delivering The Carbon Literacy Project’s Social Housing toolkit which was specifically designed tailored to the sector. Created in partnership with Great Places Housing Group and the Carbon Literacy for Registered Providers (CL4RPs) Consortium, this course covers essential climate change knowledge, the challenges and opportunities for housing and how each learner can play their part in decarbonising the sector.

You will learn about

  • Fundamental science behind human-induced climate change
  • Individual and organisational carbon footprints and emissions
  • Net zero: what it is and how we can achieve it
  • How climate action can improve social equality, efficiency and economic stability
  • How to communicate about the climate crisis to tenants and other staff.

Who is this training for?

The certified training is aimed at employees working in a social housing environment in any position, including board members. Whether you are a climate newbie or it’s your full-time job, you are welcome here.
