Mayne Veterinary Clinic

Mayne Veterinary clinic is a small independent veterinary practice based in Colchester. We’re on Bergholt Road near North Station. We’ve been making pets feel better since 1975, and that’s just one reason why we’re such a popular family vet – we’ve looked after generation after generation of pets for local people.

We joined Investors In The Environment in 2019 and achieved Bronze accreditation. We have been continuing to measure our resource use and reduce where possible. We have now signed up with Eco offset and have achieved Carbon Neutral status managing to off set our carbon production as a practice and on a per staff member basis.

We have an active Green Team which are always thinking of new and innovative ways to reduce, reuse, recycle and repair. Our environmental projects are on going and we have achieved a lot so far from repurposing pallets into a staff wellness area, recycling via teracycle to enlisting our local bicycle delivery service. Projects of the future include taking part in sustainable travel initiatives such as national walking month. Our recent staff engagement competition is the chilli ‘non’ carne competition where we will be all judging a meat free dish within the practice to encourage meat free diets and so attempting to reducing our carbon footprints further.
