Emmaus North East

Emmaus North East is a charity that provides permanent accommodation and support to formerly homeless people. In addition to housing, we also offer training and the opportunity to gain new qualifications, work and access to immediate trauma informed therapy. We have several social enterprises, a workshop that upcycles and makes new goods, shops in Hebburn and Low Fell and our largest store just about to open in Jarrow. What makes us unique is that it is a home for life if that is needed. We are passionate about supporting vulnerable people and their stories of courage and determination drive what we do.

In the last 6 months, we have started to look at out environmental impact and how we can support change. We have now developed our first set of KPI’s and the staff have received training. The next steps are to develop our strategy and policies to support that, this includes working to gain IIE accreditation.
