Whitley Bay Big Local
Whitley BayWhitley Bay Big Local is a resident led charity. It offers activities around two themes, improving health/wellbeing and improving the local environment. Activities are provided out and about in the community and from a community hub that was purchased in 2021. The community hub is a three storey, former Job Centre building, which the board has an ambition to convert into a ‘Near Zero Emissions Building’ (NZEB). Once fully refurbished, the NZEB will be financially and environmentally sustainable, and will provide a range of opportunities that improve the lives of local people and deliver activities locally that make a difference to global environmental concerns.
