World Vegan Day 2019
World Vegan Day is an international event, held annually, to help promote a healthier lifestyle. Vegans refrain from using any animal-based products in their diet; such as milk, eggs, cheese.
Many vegan groups and businesses celebrate the day by providing exhibitions, public events and workshops, as well as restaurants implementing special menus.
Did you know that a plant-based diet requires just 1/3 of the land needed to support a meat and dairy diet? Plus, according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, farmed animals contribute 14.5 per cent of human-generated greenhouse gas emissions, which is more than every car, plane, truck and train on the planet.
Could your business get involved with this campaign to help promote how making small changes to your diet can have a big environmental impact? Perhaps by offering a vegetarian or vegan dish in the staff canteen or by running an awareness raising campaign?
