Trees are the lungs of our planet; they clean the air that we breathe, provide shelter and habitats for thousands of species of animals and insects and help reduce the effects of flooding and other extreme weather conditions.

Trees are also good for business, they have been shown to increase property values and improve footfall to shops and businesses. But did you know this country has only 13% of forest coverage, far less than the European average of over 30%.

To celebrate this much overlooked and silent environmental hero, the Tree Council are holding ‘National Tree Week’, giving everyone the chance to do our bit by planting new trees and improving the treescape.

Can your business get involved with a tree planting day or awareness campaign? See charity PECT’s website to find out more about Forest for Peterborough.
