‘From Ambition to Action’ – Series launch

20201130 (7pm)

Join Cambridge Carbon Footprint for four free seminars on using an Environmental Management System (EMS) to support your business or organisation to shift from words and ambition to real action on the climate and biodiversity crisis. The launch event will be on Monday 30th November, 7pm.

49% of Cambridge’s greenhouse gas emissions come from industry and commercial sources. We know there’s a huge appetite from people within businesses and organisations to play a part in moving towards net zero, but many find it difficult to know where to begin. What resource implications might there be, what expertise needed and what’s proven to actually work?

Over 150 individuals, representatives from business, academia, local government and community groups joined Cambridge Carbon Footprint (CCF) and Cambridge City Council in early Sept for the launch of the Cambridge Climate Charter for Individuals. Cambridge Carbon Footprint is now focussing on sign-ups to the Cambridge Climate Charter for Businesses and Organisations and are offering a series of events to support signatories to fulfil their Charter pledges by adopting an EMS.

The Seminars kick-off with a launch that’ll showcase both the incredible progress and challenges that a handful of organisations and businesses with established systems have experienced. Guest speakers include:

  • Clare Watters – Sustainability Consultant, Investors in the Environment
  • Richard Hales – Energy and Sustainability Manager, Cambridge University Hospitals
  • Peter Gilheany – Director, Forster Communications (an SME aiming to be climate positive)
  • Andrew Limb – Head of Corporate Strategy, Cambridge City Council

To reserve a place, please book via Eventbrite. There will be follow-on seminars ‘From Ambition to Action’ in January and February 2021.
