St Peter’s Vets

St Peter’s Vets is a dedicated small animal practice that has been established for over 60 years. We provide a 24 hour a day service 365 days of the year. St Peter’s vets is committed to offering the best possible care for the pets we look after as we diagnose and treat a wide range of ailments. Our latest mission is to try and help look after our environment for the clients and pets of the future.

We have a dedicated Green team and have achieved Green Accreditation with iiE in September 2025. This year we have reduced our carbon footprint by 8.11% which is a 5.05t CO2e saving. We have a robust system for measuring our resources monthly and have achieved some great reductions over the last few years by increasing staff engagement and engaging with the iiE programme. One achievement we are particularly proud of has been reducing our anaesthetic gas consumption by 42.15% over the last three years by implementing low flow anaesthesia techniques and altering our analgesia protocols. We have implemented a successful switch off campaign, have got good waste segregation systems in place and we’ve started to tackle our paper usage. We have had great success with our projects and our new swap shelf at work has been a great addition to the staff room and adding wildflower seeds into our sympathy cards has had positive feedback from clients.

As a practice we feel like the veterinary industry have been a contributor to climate change through the use of anaesthetic gas agents and having to use single use only items so we need to be part of the solution and we need to be doing our part to reduce our impact where we can.
