West Midlands Police is the second largest police force in the country, covering an area of 348 square miles and serving a population of almost 2.8 million.

Our Environmental Strategy –

We know that as a large organisation, reducing our environmental impact is vital. Becoming a more sustainable force will play a key part in us balancing our budgets as well as helping the environment. In 2022 we launched our first environmental strategy to set out the ways we plan to do this and the part our people have to play. This strategy supports delivery of the Police and Crime Plan, it identifies the areas where we will focus our efforts over the next five years. These are:

Sustainable in our operations – Acting to ensure our police operations are sustainable; minimising environmental impacts and reducing carbon
