The Comfrey Project

Gateshead

The Comfrey Project is a small grassroots charity funded in 2002 to support refugees and people seeking asylum living in the North East primarily through the provision of horticultural and nature based activities. Our community gardens in Newcastle and Gateshead provide people with a welcoming space where they can gain some respite, meet others and engage in meaningful volunteering opportunities such as gardening, garden maintenance & development, bee-keeping, cooking and more. They also enjoy a host of creative and learning opportunities, as well as trips and events which help them improve their skills and confidence and integrate better with the local community
