Shropshire based business launches environmental accreditation scheme for West Midlands region
Investors in the Environment (iiE) is a nationwide environmental accreditation scheme set up by the charity Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT). iiE is designed to help businesses save money and the environment by improving their energy efficiency and reducing their environmental impact. Shropshire couple Steve and Sally Barras are now launching the innovative scheme across the West Midlands. This will provide West Midlands based businesses with access to support and advice to become greener whilst also saving save money, in addition to local and national business networking opportunities.
Investors in the Environment is a simple to use and very cost effective means of implementing an environmental plan in any business. iiE provides all the templates and advice a business needs in one easy-to-use pack, which assists organisations to reduce costs and provide credible third party evidence of their green credentials.
There are three iiE accreditation levels that an organisation can work towards. This means that there is a suitable level for every company wishing to go green – from taking the first steps towards environmental improvement through to becoming a truly sustainable business.
Steve Barras explains: “We are delighted to announce the launch of Investors in the Environment – West Midlands. iiE has already helped organisations throughout the UK reduce their impact on the environment in a realistic way that works for them. We are looking forward to making the benefits of the scheme available to organisations across the West Midlands. Businesses will receive tailored, continued support and expert advice. iiE will help organisations not only improve their environmental impact but also reduce costs and enable them to demonstrate their green credentials.”
“We thought very carefully about launching a new business in the currently uncertain economic climate, however we believe environment sustainability and financial sustainability go hand in hand and organisations of all sizes and types will benefit from iiE coming to the region. With packages starting for as little as £199 the scheme is accessible to all businesses.”
